Instrumentation converts process conditions into measurements that operators and control systems can use. Selecting an instrument requires knowledge of the process medium, measurement range, environment and the way its signal will be used.
Details to resolve before work begins
An instrument schedule should include process connections, materials, signal types and calibration requirements. For automation modifications, identify the existing controller, I/O capacity and operating sequence before deciding how new equipment will be integrated.
Selection & project coordination
The installation is coordinated with site access, adjoining systems and the operating requirements of the facility. Inspection, commissioning and documentation requirements are agreed as part of the project scope.

What is the difference between instrument supply and a complete automation scope?
Supply covers the specified components. A wider scope may also include mounting, tubing or cabling, programming, calibration, loop checks and process trials; these responsibilities should be identified in the quotation.
What information is needed to quote for instrumentation & process automation?
Please provide process diagrams, instrument data sheets, signal and communication types, calibration requirements. Include the project location, drawings or equipment schedule, required delivery date and any consultant specification. This helps our team identify the correct scope before pricing.
How is the instrumentation & process automation scope agreed?
The team reviews the drawings and site conditions, identifies interfaces with other trades, and sets out the deliverables and exclusions in a written quotation. Technical submittals, inspection requirements and handover records are agreed to suit the project.
